Ok, quick one.

In 6th season now.

I've noticed that across the board with international teams it seems that the younger/fringe players who are'nt in the squads at the start of the game (07) rarely break through.

Anyone else noticed this?

For instance, France carry on picking Anelka at 34 etc and Cisse at 30+ but continue to overlook Saivet et al.

Doesnt really happen with me tbh. I bought Briand to Arsenal in season 1 and by the end of the season he was being picked for France over Trez, Anelka, Cisse etc. It was him and Henry at the front.

Same thing happened with Fred. Although he was with Brazil at the start of the game, he wasnt a regular. Half-way through the season he got the nod and has not been dropped since. Menez also broke through into the squad although he wasnt a started after season 1.

I think it might have to do with the team the player is playing for as well. If its a smaller team then I think it takes longer for them to get picked. For eg, while at Arsenal, I was playing Diaby quite a bit and he was being picked for France regularly as well. Sold him next season to Newcastle and he became a subsitute and season of the season with them, was dropped from the squad altogether. Depends on that, and obviously if they're playing consistently for their club and playing well.
