I'm currently managing Liverpool, and the week before I'm due to play my first game of the season; against Sunderland, Tottenham enquire about John Arne Riise.

I decided I'd put them off his scent by asking for Gareth Bale in a straight swap. To my shock, they've accepted my request.

What I'd like to know is should I accept their bid?

Thats a hard one mate. Riise is really good but Bale is pretty good too and is very young. I think I'll take it if you still have Aurelio who can be your first choice. Also, check to see what the coaches say about Insua. If they think he'll become a good player then reject the deal. If they say he'll become a decent player or something, then accept I suppose.

But like I said, hard deal to call.

yeah do what hulk said about insua. he usually turns out to be a world class left back! Bale is a good left back at the start and then a great left back a few years in. I like to have a young team so i would deal!

Yeah, that's the biggest problem about the deal.

Due to the system I'm currently using, I'm playing Insua as my first choice left-back with Aurelio and Riise as backup if/when he's injured.

Insua is touted for great things according to my coaches and I'm not sure singing Bale as backup to him is really the best thing for him and the club...

Think I'll reject the bid and see how things go till January. If Aurelio or Riise start becoming disgruntled due to a lack of first team football then I may look at replacing them.

i would deal if your only using riise as back up, bale will be worth a fortune in a few years and will be more hapy about sitting on the bench than riise will be

Even if I did accept, Bale wouldn't be interested in joining the club. Can't for the life of me figure out why!?

I've opted to sign Mamadou Sakho, after a season or two on loan/in the U-18s he should be more than capable of being quality backup/competition for Insua.

Bale has only just joined spurs so that would be a bid factor in it!

yeah Sakho is good get Cahais aswell they can both be your Left back cover but play them in centre unless insua is injured!

I'll look into Cahais in January. I'll send some scouts over a couple of times between now and then for some feedback as to how his progress is coming on.
