I agree, the FIFA rankings don't mean much. More useful is the UEFA 5-year ranking which gives a fairly accurate picture of the strength of the leagues (which is what you're interested in anyway as opposed to the strength of the national team). Unfortunately I don't know of any such list for the other FIFA members.

Oh I've never really taken much stock in the ratings, at least until England top the list which will be, er, never. But, Dale, you are right in your statement, it is the leagues which you are interested in, not the national teams. Wales kinda springs to mind...

Come on! Honk kong league cannot be as half shyte as Slovenian is IRL and Slovenian natinal is placed in 29th place1!!!

I don't thinkthat is based onworld rankings... Rep of Ireland ranked 14 in the world.... League of Ireland probably is just above hong kong and India ....

I personally don't think that can beat the English League simply cause if you start in the conference you have to get promoted 4 times to play with the big boys... Although I have only played LLM outside the English league twice in all my years of CM.
