When players/staff are recommended do you think about the realism?
at the start of a new game i have immediately tried to sort my backroom staff. the only scout interested in coming is an ex - liverpool, big nosed welshman with a dodgy moustache. i am manager of a ****e scottish third divison side so should i really be thinking "it just wouldn't be realistic signing him" or should i just go for it as it is a game and he does want to come. also, the only decent coach that is interested in joining is a 60 something ex - england goalkeeper with about 60 caps. the same applies with him. it doesn't feel right to me, but it's not cheating. i shouldn't need to ask this question so it's not as though my conscience is getting the better of me but i just thought i would try and liven this forum up a bit and find out what you lot think to this predicament.

Plenty of Ex International's a long way down the ranks... If he was good enough for a bigger club they would take him imo, so surely he's 'small' enough for yours...

It doesn't matter who they are or where they've been, if they are interested in coming to your club then it's not a crime to sign them. You do have an issue if they are asking the kind of money that would bankrupt your club! no chairman in his right mind (Peter R. Leeds, excepted), would let you go so far as to sink your club in backroom boys in the real world.

Normally I would disagree with everyone and say don't sign them. But when the same players will go to other Conference/Scots Div3 teams you're just hindering yourself. So sign away.
