Well I've been playing with the EMA folks for 3 weeks or so and I thought I'll give you guys a short heads up. We basically finished 2 seasons in that time, so about one season a week which isn't bad. Overall there must be like 15 people in the clan now but only 8-10 usually show up regularly. This season is a lot of fun, we now have 7 human managers in the conference and you get a lot of human vs. human matchups. Some fools are in Div 2 and one even in Div 1 (took over Wolves instead of a conference club when he started) and the rest in Div 3.
It's not a LLM game by any stretch of the imagination, i.e. in the chatroom there's a lot of player wheeling and dealing (who wants my SC, I have some DCs for loan, hey someone sell me a left winger with good crossing) and the updates are full of player naming, but it's still a lot of fun. I'm playing by the LLM rules as much as possible (except for the player naming in updates), and it did put me in a bit of a disadvantage initially until my scouts found enough players to fill my shortlist.
Human managers tend to offer each other players, and so I ended up agreeing to some transfer deals with players I haven't scouted before because the player was offered to me - not very LLM I suppose. On the other hand if the computer offers you a player exchange it's fine to agree without scouting him first, right? With human managers this just happens a lot more often.
All in all I can recommend the EMA online game to fellow LLaMas, it's fun even if it's not really LLM. And while the updates have loads of player naming they're fun to read. There's a lot of friendly banter and a healthy competition where nobody is too upset about losing or getting sacked (which happens quite a bit). There's no collaboration other than the player trades, and even there people try hard to get the most out of a deal and you won't see a first-division player with loads of money pay unreal amounts for a conference player to help out a fellow manager (in fact people tend to be much tougher in negotiations than the computer managers).
I'm not sure if Paul is looking for more players right now, but when he does I can only recommend this game to anybody here. I'd love to have even more players in the conference, 7 is already pretty good tho and there's a constant flow of sacked managers who start over in the conference
