Default Technical specs question

I'm running CM4 on a PII 350 MHz, 128 RAM (Yes, really). I was thinking about starting up a new game with the English league selected, and letting it run for about 7-8 seasons and then taking on a conference side. Does anyone of you have the slightest idea of how long this would take?

It'd be nice to take on a newly-promoted side in the conference by then, and having absolutely no clue at all about the rest of the league at the time. I think you get my point.

Thing is, I really don't want to wait for a whole week to do this, as my computer isn't the fastest

Anyone?

It would take approximately 4 months. You have no chance of running CM4 on a computer like that.

Depends on database size how often you save level of detail etc, I would set the auto save to once a year and I am totally guessing on this but I would expect that 24 hours would get it close to what your looking for, Just leave it on for 24 hours anyway and see how far you get.

24 hours? You must be kidding. It takes me 24 hours to simulate less than two seasons, and I have an Athlon 1.4 GHz.

Holy sh*t.... Didn't think it would be that long.

In that case Henrik. Wait till CM10 11/12 comes out in May 2012.... After you spend the next 6 months installing EP1 - EP26 you should have a very playable version of the game for christmas 2012...

I've been playing CM4 realtively satisfactory since the game came out, actually.

Anyhow, I decided to reinstall CM01/02 and do the same thing there, but one question came out of that: There is no way you can be a manager without a team at the beginning of the game, is there? Because I'm running the game in "demo mode" at the moment. It doesn't matter particularly much, as I'll just add myself whenever I feel like it later on, but would be nice to have a managerial history of doing zilch for 10 seasons or so, and then out of the blue landing the coveted job at Stafford Rangers or likewise...

My best guess is around 6 light years.
