Me too I don't think I have ever paid towards a loan players wages, is that realistic also? Would the Man Utd’s of this world insist that Forrest Green pay £300 a week towards a players £5000 salary?

Somebody did mention in another thread that what they do is not loan a player if their salary is more than 10 times what they can pay their own players. But now that you can loan 4 players (CM4) at a time it is a huge issue for LLM as loaning 4 good youngsters can turn your team from relegation certainties into championship contenders…

It is very tough to come up with a hard and fast rule. My suggestion would be that the older heads in the forum get together and discuss either having a guideline or requesting that SI implement a change they request. I know the though of introducing a new rule may be abhorrent to some, and there will be others who will say just loan a player if you think it is realistic. But to be perfectly honest I really don’t know what a realistic loan player is? Would a 18 year old premiership youth join a Conference side?

If for example the consensus turned out to be that you should only loan a player in their salary was less than 5 times what you can offer your players then that would be a very easy change for SI to implement.

Seriously though, I have been playing my own version of LLM for years I only found this forum when I was looking for the patches for CM4. In previous versions of CM my attitude has been if they are available to loan I'll have them. Obviously having seen the way other people play LLM I like the ideas I have seen but loan players are probably the only grey area.

I honestly don't know what is realistic as a loan player but have seen some ideas. Max 2 divisions above, 10 time salary, 5 times salary... To be honest I'm just trying to get an idea of what other people think is realistic before comming up with a hard and fast rule for myself.... I am not playing LLM at the moment because of the morale problem. But hope to kick off a new career when EP5 arrives.

I know most of you lads are still playing CM3 so I don't even know if the guidelines for CM3 will be suitable for CM4 but it could be a good starting point.

Well I can't say that I've managed to loan a Premier League player whilst in the conference in CM3. Even if the club accepts the player usually turns his nose up.

BTW, have you read the thread about unrealistic signings?. Doesn't touch on loans, but maybe gives a flavour of the answer you're looking for.

Boy that was a fun read... I think the most valid point was made by Rekwob he said "LLM is starting to be 'make it as hard as possible for yourself' rather than 'play teh game without cheating'."

It is up to SI to allow or not allow a transfer, they are pushing for realism so they need to come up with a way or rejecting unrealistic targets either loan or Transfer. Until that happens this arguement will rage on and on.

I have managed to loan young premiership stikers when I kicked off CM4 with Leigh RMI... That was with EP1 but was very easy to progress. Haven't played LLM since so roll on EP5.

First teamers, absolutely not. Reserves, I suppose it depends on the circumstances.

If you're playing CM4, I think you could realistically look at members of the Under 19's though. Although, I'm not sure how you find those players since scouting is so screwed up.
