I signed a young DC when he was a spotty-faced 15y/o and he played over 500 games for me in about 14 seasons. After I'd left the Club he stayed on and eventually retired after 22 seasons at the same Club.

I'm damned if I can remember the Team and the pre-2003 prune has deleted the thread with mention of it

It's good to see a player sticking around with a club for so long. The longest I've had a player in the team for was 889 league games whilst at Hayes. Had been chasing the fellow (a goalkeeper) for a couple of years, before eventually landing him aged 24 on a bosman and he proved crucial to the team (and much better than the guy he replaced). Eventually he retired aged 47, when still performing well and first choice, and it kind of signalled the beginning of the end for me at the club. Got his goal for the club quite late on from the penalty spot (he'd regularly take them in penalty shoot outs).

In saying that one of my defenders (signed when aged about 17) must have made about 600 games by the time I let him go, but due to the overlap never made it for that reason onto the history pages.

I have a 26 year old M R at Newport that I inherited who is nearly 350 league games. By my reckoning, that's around 9 seasons of pretty much solid playing.
My top scorer at the moment is another Newport lad, who's nearly 100 goals aged 27.
My all time record was a M R who played for me at Barnet in CM2. He amassed 498 league games. Record scorer was a S C when I managed Stoke who scored 142.

I had a GK who stayed with Sora for over 10 years (could have been 20). He was always the first name on the teamsheet until he reached the age of 38, when he wasn't so good and got a coaching post for his loyalty.

No, i was changing the e-mail in my profile as i was nearing 10,000, used a ... @freemail ... POP3 address but should have put ...@mail ... instead of ...@freemail .... couldn't get back into my profile to change it or any mods profiles to check their addresses, my username was seemingly deleted due to having an outstanding 'unconfirmed' e-mail address ...
so ended up having to re-register
Been waiting days to get back on ...

Pain in the arse ... luckily remembered Duffys e-mail address and i just got back ... so, Hello and cheers to Duffy for sorting that as well
