Bryce. I haven't rubbished the thread. I've rubbished the nerks who think that using "science" to gain an advantage over the AI is within the LLM Spirit. There are many new guys who simply don't understand the Spirit and Ethics of LLM, and more importantly aren't willing to learn.

Lyssien. I don't know how you play the game so I'm unqualified to call you a cheat. What I did say, however, was:
quote:
It's as plain as the nose on your face that Lyssien's technique is against the LLM Spirit, but still guys try to justify it.

LLM's understand that. Guys who attempt to justify it don't understand LLM.

I also said:
quote:
If you try to use techniques to gain an advantage over the AI, then you're cheating. Pure and simple.

The fact it appears in the same post as the above quote doesn't make both statements mutual.

Don't believe the reports that I only understand LLM. If the Forum pre-2003 hadn't been pruned then I could have guided you to many posts where I stated there were many ways to play CM, and indeed LLM, but in order to participate in this Forum there are certain guidelines that are pretty well mandatory.

And yes, I have read and taken on board what you've said regarding other LLM games. The above is merely to clarify a couple of points.

Do you think it's possible that people are willing to learn, but are yet to be convinced of your views, or simply don't fully understand them?

Eg, I made a statement early on which rek and seamus then contradicted. So I understood where they were coming from and adjusted my view.

Does this make me a redeemable nerk, or a nerk who just thinks he's starting to understand?

Eech! Do I have to dissect every statement I make?
quote:

Iaj,

I'm probably one of those who your aiming at; in my defense I didn't actually read Lyssien's initial post properly. Once I realised I was in error, I stopped posting in this thread (through shame, I think :o) I do play in the spirit and ethics of LLM personally (at least I think I do), but I believe there is hope for those who don't understand. But then again I'm an eternal optimist

My head hurts : patrafter :

Is this one still going? Iaj, I love having to dissect what I have previously said. It proves people aren't actually reading things properly and always puts their arguement on a weaker footing

Training is one complete mystery for me, and so is the benifits of Tech/Fitness/General coaches who's has a Cautious/Adventurous/Attacking personality with a preferance towards 442/451/252 tactics.

SI have left information on these areas a very dark shade of grey for one reason as far as I can see. That is so we can work it out for ouselves and once the dissection of any of this occurs, it only clears away the darkness.

Take the humble labrotory rat. Pink eyes, white, and he will run all day around a wheel enjoying every moment of it. Take the same rat (properly dead), pin him down and cut him open, and view what makes him work. It doesn't take that long but then the poor dead rat is thrown in the bin as you now know all there is to know about how he functions. I'd rather still be watching the rat run around the wheel in his cage and the same goes for LLM.

LLM is all about finding it out for yourself through trial & error what is good/bad for your game, and not through some pre-fabricated exhaustive test runs. It falls into the same **** bucket as super tactics and signing known players.

Teach the rat new tricks, but don't rip the poor ******* apart just so you can work out how he ticks.

It's hard to imagine that the bugs that were/are in CM4 in general have not tainted training with the same sort of problems.

For example my coach says my goalkeeper should not be doing outfield training. WTF! I've followed the manual to the letter and he an't on any outfielder only training. I just have to hope that the actual message being given is a bug and not the actual training schedule that is SNAFU.
