Regarding the "Prayer Method" (go away and hope that everything will be OK on return), unfortunately it has failed to work for me repeatedly.

I try to think along these lines myself, but sometimes it is impossible, for example when you are losing a talented young striker to some bigger team and know that you just won't be able to replace him. Then things start getting really stressful.
So, Paul, let's face the facts: you are screwed.
Seriously now, I have found that my biggest successes this far have come when my adrenaline goes sky high while playing- knowing that it's now or never.
