Default Do some Spanish/Basque teams not play in the Spanish Cup?
After being sacked by Toledo (in the impatient board thread) and having taken over at Gernika, a Basque-only team, we were not entered in the draw for the preliminiary round of the Spanish Cup.

I checked their progress last year and they didn't play in it then either, and it's not listed in the competitions you can check.

Is this a thing that some Basque clubs do (or don't as the case may be)?

Yep, it does depend on league performance, I was told how it is worked out, but I'm afraid I can't remember.
I was in the same boat, the season I managed at Real Avila, I wasn't in the Spanish Cup either, and was very miffed at the fact a few non league teams were.
