Thanks for all the replies and my apologies, I will read all of the forum guidelines in future.

After my MK Dons game I may have my first crack at LLM on FM08 and make a post as some threads on here are very entertaining to read.

A parting note, don't judge everyone that looks at the player guide forum too quickly, I enjoy ALL the forums and sharing a bit of information here and there is just a way of helping people.

The LLM way is not to give advice about players or formations. Either you follow the LLM way or you don't.

Leero,
I think you are missing the point, either you are or you aren't a llama. You are not Muslim one day and then Catholic the next... See the analogy?

I think you have missed the point entirely, if you are to be a true LLM you can never, ever go into the player guide forum.
This defeats the point of what we try and do.

Any player that you buy, whether he turns out to be good or bad, should be done entirely on the knowledge that you have learnt whilst playing the game.
No-one ever gets it right all the time, even the Scottish manager at Old Trafford buys the occasional bad one, this is all part of the game.

What we're saying is that whatever way you look for players, send scouts out, watching players you play against, watching other games, when you buy a player it should be on what you interpret through form, stats etc.....

It shouldn't be looking in the player guide forum and seeing a post that says
"Buy Player X who players for Team Y, he will cost you £Z but he will score you 50 league goals a season in the Conference North Division".

Nice analogy Sancho.

Sancho

Slight extreme analogy there... I can see the point and whilst I will not name any players or tactics etc in this forum, if someone in the Good Player Guide forum asks for a recommendation for a good player for the BSN and I have one, I will gladly share my knowledge.

No harm in helping people.

Ok leerobbo1983, see if you get what I'm trying to explain here.

If this game was real life, and the forums were a way of communicating between real life managers, then what you have just said would be perfectly acceptable.
If your mate rings you up and says, do you know a good player in BSN, then you can quite rightly tell him.

Football Manager is not real life, and every game is different, all players have certain random stats (others more than the top players), so someone who is a good player for you, could be absolute carp for them.

My main point though is, for instance say the person who you replied to in the player guide forum is called Joe Bloggs, is Joe Bloggs on your Football Manager 2008 save? Does this Joe Bloggs exist?
The answer is No, as you are playing in a different virtual football world to him.

Can you see what we are trying to tell you?

Leero...
If you think you can do both - then you might as well not hang out in this forum, people will ignore you... Trust me.

While the example may be extreme, the difference between the options is analogous to your case... hence the reason for an analogy and the use of a literary tool

I tried to think of a better analogy Sancho, but every one I came up with would have offended someone on here, so I chose not to!!
