This is something that has bugged me since the inclusion of player interaction in FM.

You should be able to use player interaction to help convince players who do not want to join your club to join.

Now I am not saying it should work every time but you could have discussion options like where you are planning to take the club, you are going to make them captain or have a pivotal role if they join (players with a high loyalty factor should be easier to convince than other players), also clubs that have amazing fan bases can help here because a medium player at a big club might be convinced to move to a smaller club because the fans will treat him like God (big fish little pond scenario)

Also it seems to me absolutely ridiculous that some players would rather not play for any club and sit on the free transfer list for months and months without any other interest from other parties than sign for my club. I should be able to convince them to sign. Andy Cole stayed as a free transfer for 6 months after knocking back countless contract offers from me and then retired from the game.
Even a 19 year old kid with decent stats chose to retire than join my club!!!!!!

Both points would make good additions to the game, providing they were added correctly.

Agreed, both good ideas that if implemented properly, could improve the transfer side of the game no end.
