Howdy. Last night after coming home from the football, i attempted to load up FM 08 on my laptop. However, it warned me to insert the Football Manager CD Rom. I checked to see if I had removed it by mistake, which i didn't. But on close expection, the CD Rom was split from the centre up around 2 inches.
Obviously my funds are low following christmas. Infact, im close to going overdrawn for the first time ever since i started working! So ill be putting off buying a replacement for a while. I am wondering though, what may have caused the disk to snap? It hadn't been taken out of the drive for quite a few weeks...maybe that was the problem? I did transfer the laptop in my laptop bag with the disk still in it too.
I could be wrong but if you post the broken disk to SI they will replace it. This used to be the policy of games companies but I dont know if it still is. Give them a call and find out cause then all it would cost you is postage and packaging.
try taking it back to the shop, even if you threw your laptop off the top of a building, which I wouldn't suggest, the C.D shouldn't break. Have you ever tried to break one... It's very hard.

I tried to snap a CD once, but I got worried it would snap into sharp shards and cut me.
