Well, look at it on the bright side - at least when your words are twisted, they're alwys twisted exactly the same way. They could have randomized it, then you'd really be frustrated.

I don't really agree with the "Decipher what each means after you've used it" comment.
I don't think that's good game design.
Its challenging enough to figure out whether I should coddle a player or give him a kick up the backside, without introducing semantic uncertainty!
Tell me what my input means, and let me make my own mistakes, rather than "forcing" a misstep on me by having imprecise verbiage lead to confusion.
I understand that IRL the media can twist somebody's words and take them out of context .. but when it happens the way that it does "in game", it doesn't feel "realistic", it just feels aggravating.
Spot on - my most hated example is the media interpreting "sympathises with opponents" as "grudgingly admits ref was wrong" - no, that's not what i said! i said i felt sorry for them - i can feel sorry for them if the decision is right can't i?
Its a minor niggle that I have with the game, to me its the rest of the problems I can bear with, others insist for a patch, or they'll never buy FM again.
I'm happy enough, I enjoy the challenge, I respect that I can loose a game or many, and enjoy the good runs and unexpected promotions. OK I'm drifting of the the subject in place.
I am currently managing York not by choice (started unemployed), I got promoted in the first season, through true amazement by me thought I would finish 2nd at best. Got promoted in the first season/ Whoooo Hooo!!!
Well expanded the squad further and brought in an assistant manager. Who informs moral is at rock bottom, for enjoying 1st place for at least x10 games.
***Bear with me the waffle will make sense***
I start to deal with media comments in a different manor, either shy away and not respond does help, I should do this more often and not comment. However I normally do this any way( to stop the players from nervous and all that jazz). But on various occasions, I may say YES we'll win or It'll be tough, But I'm sure we'll do well. I've only once mentioned the press the "mind game media comment." You know the "Your gonna get them relagated media reply.
But some times, they change the text, on how the responses are worded, but as these "NEWER",worded options are not clear they are but when you use them, I instantly go .....eh....uh?!??! Nope that's not what I said.
I really don't mind, but maybe its lost in translation, but when I choose a responce and for it to reply the opposite to what I enterpreted the meaning to be then, it damages the moral of the squad they also become nervous in the next game.
Apologies for the lengthy reply, I'm not one to winge or complain, I don't wish to sound like I'm ranting the game is sublime, but this is a minor. if not buggy annoyance.
