Just started a not so realistic game with two major goals. My main goal is to take over AFC Wimbledon in the second season (as they always seems to get promoted to the blue sq. conf. south in the first), and my second goal is to bring down chelsea (this is the unrealistic part). So I took control of chelsea in the first transfer window and sold all of there 1. team players (incl. Makelele in reserve). Also i spent all of there money so that they had a minus of 40 mil. I then resigned and went on holiday until the end of the season, expecting that chelsea would relegate. But!! to my suprise i found them at the end of the season in 6th place and therefor qualified for the uefa cup.
I actually dont have any questions, but just fully surprised that a chelsea reserve team (and i checked the players, the stats would be bad even for af championship team) could achiev a 6th place.
Oh well, the second season have startet, I have taken over AFC Wimbledon with my "serios" manager and have also begone to sell the chelsea reserve team. Lets see how they can manage with only the u-19 squad

They will still perform just as well with their U19 team, or even a grey team.
For one simple reason - unless you have changed the default settings - the results between AI teams are calculated primarily on club rep; so, even though you have removed all of chelseas team, the club rep will still be something like 8500, meaning that they will "beat" the majority of opponents.
The AI matches are simmed this way just because it's quicker - if you go into preferences and turn match detail into highest, it will run slowly, but chelsea will plummet.
But in every league that you're managing in then it runs in full detail anyway. I think that's the point that Miles Jacobson was making on Christmas Day....
Yeah, to really ruin Chelsea the way you wanted to, you needed to play the entire season as a Premiership manager. Ideally, you manage them, and make sure to pick the lowest morale, tiredest, worst form players, and ask them to go all-out-attack every time out. You should lose 11-nil with regularity.

No, that wasn't the point he was making.
If you don't want to believe me then feel free to experiment - go into preferences and set match processing on fastest (or any setting other than slowest) and then do what gurk did.
Then repeat with match processing on slowest - and the distinction will become apparent.
There was an experiment a while back when someone changed Andorras players to 170CA, they still lost 7-0 11-0 etc because the team rep stayed the same.
The difference between leagues you are running and leagues you aren't is that the matches ARE NOT EVEN SIMMED in leagues that you aren't running (or not to the point where they can be viewed etc) the engine just produces season stats for the players in keeping with their ability.
