Specific kits for competitions is not a feature in Football Manager.

Neither are winter balls. The winter ball you are probably thinking of is the orange one that will be used on snowy pitches.

You can change the winter balls though.

Go to graphics/pitch/balls/winter

delete the "winter" file and replace with the new balls you want to use and rename as "winter"

picking a red coloured ball is probably better as when/if you get a snow match you wont see a white ball.

I don't think they are what the fella was looking for though with the likes of a yellow ball that will be used during the winter months in leagues that do that.

If you want the Liverpool ECL kit to show you have to rename it to liverpool_home and replace the current home shirt with it. Though this will cause Liverpool to wear the ECL kit at home for all compeitions.
(If you are managing Liverpool and only want ECL kit to show in europe - switch the home kits around before the european game, then switch skins so the kit you want is showing (when it is switch back), after the game repeat so the league kit is back - then repeat each time you play in europe).

If you want to use the winter ball when its not snowing - save and exit the game, replace the normal ball with your winter ball, reload FM, play the games/months you want the winter ball for, save the game exit. Switch the balls back so the normal ball is the main one, reload FM and continue.

(Its a lot of messing around, but if you really want it )


Ter - Any chance we'll have competition specific balls or kits in the future (FM2007, 2008 ...) - could have it so that you type in competition ID into the config file, like the year for the changing kits?
Or have it so that the winter ball is used during the winter months (Though is this done in other leagues and countries?)

well i've asked a few times before, but i'll explain again .....


Ok, so the match graphics (the little pop up box that shows bookings etc), could we have different ones for different competitions?

So we could have yellow for league, grey for league cup, blue for fa cup, red for international (or whatever, just using colours as an easy example but obviously pictures would be nicer). Then we could create match graphics that are competition specific.

Also if possible, other features could be specific competition kits (i.e. ECL kits) and competition specific balls (so a nice shiny new ball for the World Cup etc etc)

Just an idea, dunno how complicated it would be, but if possible it would really help to make matches different.

The match popup idea doesn't appeal to me
