I have bought regens with PA of >170 over my 10 seasons and none of them is of Prem standards. And I notice most of their CA is around 150 and Scout Rating is below 65%.

What is the best possible way to look for good players? I have notice that PA doesn't really determine anything sometimes.

Is the Scout Rating reliable enough?

ps: i haven't figured out how the PA/CA thing works. someone please enlighten me.

CA= current ability, calculated on a range of player attributes that are important for the players position. CA will rise with age, training, good coaching and playing regularly but rarely more than 7 or 8 points a year
PA= potential ability, which is fixed in then game and the maximum value that the CA can rise to.
A player with a CA of 100 and is 22 will not reach a PA of 180 so it would be better to have a 22 year old with a CA of 140 and a PA of 160

Scout rating is a % mark based on the players ability to play in a number of positions, so thye higher the better.
A very small percentage of players get close to their PA so CA/scout rating is a better guage of ability
