Shogun Blackburn Sep 2007.tac for good to excellent teams
Ive been playing with a 442 for a while now. Won the league with A.madrid 1st time but apart from that (especially since patch) its let me down. Also I think a 442 with target man is abit of a shame to use as it restricts the creativeness of midfield and and forward wonderkids.
After playing with Blackburn for a season with a minimul fuss 442, I won the euro cup but hovered just above relegation. I was getting cut apart in the midfield, and target men are ugly. Therefore I wanted to create a tactic which incorporated a DMC behind the 2 centre midfields. In past games I have done this at expense of the wingers. In past games I have used a 4-1-2-1-2 but the super tactic of old works no longer on 06 and 07, teams ripping you apart down the flanks and the game being bogged down in the centre. One option was to play just one up front, but ive never liked this as strikers become isolated, plus I have 5 great strikers and would lose the use of them. So 4-5-1 wasnt an option either.
I decided to use 3 centre backs, allowing the wing backs to push up as my wingers.
THE 3-3-2-2 IS BORN.
Im top of the league at december, the only team to have beat me are arsenal who are a double winning side in my game. The Midfielders are running riot, banging in lots of goals. My defence and Midfield are like a fortress, and its really good to watch the 1 touch football.
Ive made lots of tweaks but would like people to test this formation, because I have a very good but not brilliant team and would like some thoughts on making it better. I find the wingbacks do a good enough job defending the flanks, but I am considering on dropping 1 forward to AMC to link up the play. Its just at the moment Im top and perhaps I should leave it so need a few ideas from you chaps. Its a very extremely lucky tactic, as Ive come back from being down, scored from set pieces, long range goals from everywhere, last minute goals. all the stuff that usually the AI does.
The tactic can be downloaded at www.FMdownloads.net. Its called Shogun. Sorry I cant put a link here, dont know how!

58 views and no comments! Plz use my tactic and make your comments. I seriously think I have made a super tactic that beats anyone without having to make any changes per match or during.
I really think this is a super tactic like the ones in the old days! And it really looks good to watch too! I will be back in an hour or two, need beer and xmas presents

Matt, I have to say that there is a lack of detail in your original post.
Plenty of stuff about what was happening and your success now, but not enough detail to really persuade someone that this tactic might work for their team.
Is it defensive minded, attack minded, what positions are key? How does the line up look? Other than the 2 wing-backs, is everyone else central players? Any DMC's, or all MC's? Do you have a tall target man, or are short, fast strikers likely to thrive?

I created this tactic to stop the opposition from passing thier way thru the middle. The 3 Centre backs, who are 2 man to man markers with the central one being zonal are very defensive and the DMC is defensive too with high tackling. The DMC picks up the ball and cuts off any attack, then distributes the ball to any of the 4 midfielders. Ive watched the highlights and seen this happen. The wing backs cover enuff from the flanks, and if any crosses are met they are by 3 defenders. The two centre midfielders are both highly attacking and creative and support the attackers. This tactics allows for 2 amc, both who will bag around 15 goals each per season. There is no target man, both will come deep to the get the ball and support the attack. Prepare for crazy goals as they skin player, score tap ins, and curl shots from distances. The WBR cross from mixes, deep and byline. There are other tweaks and such and such all perfectly set. Counter tacking is unticked, but the formation counter attacks anyway as the tempo is fast from one end to the other. Tired of the opposition scoring longshots? now its your turn for payback. Offside is also unticked as its difficult with 3 back.
I designed this tactic so that i could incorparate 2 strikers in the box, have width with wing backs (Guardado, Ratinho, Baines, Rafinha perfect here!) and have a better defence at the same time.
I also desigined this tactic for the creative and skill full team, arsenal and continental teams. It allows players that are normally restricted in a 442 to express themselves, getting the best out of wonderkids and raising both the average ratings (to about an average of 8 per player) and thier value.
Im not sure this tactic will work with a poor team (but how many do) but with my blackburn team of wonderkids who have now gelled after a season of being together to be 1st in the league. This included an 8 match winning streak, which was ended away to the biggest team in my game Arsenal. Then went on another winning streak. I have scored 33 goals and let in 10 and its Jan 1st in the league. I am walking the euro cup.Darren Bent and Higuain are my two forwards, with kerlon and zarate as back up, so fast powerful strikers are the key. Like I said this tactic gets the most out of players, Kerlon has improved greatly as have my other kids.
I would like suggestions on the tactic, plz someone test it on a crap team, or any team!
Its neither attacking nor defensive. Its 4 defend 2 medium 4 attack.
I never change it to suit the opponent it has never needed it.

Of course the diagram i made for the tactic is balls. Imagine the name of the positions in the right place. I have had it downloaded over 70 times so far but no comment!

Looks a very promising tactic, I get entirely how you've devised it.
Personally I don't like wing-backs, but the idea you have, covering all positions on the pitch with someone, should work wonders given the right instructions.
It's a bit different too, which is always nice to see

I forgot to mention small details like the forwards swapping positions at half time due to them being similar positions. This should fool the man markers! There are lots of tweaks and fiddles ive made.

Oh and special thanks to Fuss for Minimal Fuss. The 442 was the first tactic i used, and learning from it (the importance of wingers in this game, the set piece set up to name a few).
