I'm playing with Red Star and have been using a 4-3-3 for the last 2 FM years. My old tactic started to lose most of it's effectiveness this season so I tried to tweak it and make it better.
This resulted in my latest game in the Quarters of the CL vs. Real Madrid, a 5 - 1 win.
I am in 2015 and yes, my team is better than they started at, but I have never made it past the CL quarters when it was a breeze in 06. But keep in mind my team is mostly Serbians, Montenegrin, and a few Bosnians and Croatians. So real definitely has a better sqad than me. And while I walk all over the rest of Serbia it is tough since everyone always plays for the tie.
Basis for tactic.
Basically I try to out skill and out run the opposition, quick and attacking soccer with 3 strikers to put the goals away.
I like 3 fast good strikers and the middle one should have the best heading of the 3. I like to focus the scoring load on them because relying on midfield long shots is sometime rewarding but way too inconsistent.
Put your best midfielder in the attacking slot. The DMC plays the linking role and if he has speed it is a nice bonus. Basically the midfield is there to get play going and to set up the strikers.
The wing backs come up for some attacking and midfield support. The DCs have one on a lower mentality to pick up anyone that might sneak through.
It depends, my biggest problem with the tactic currently is consistency. I can beat a great team 4-0 and then be playing a second division semi pro Serbian team in the local cup and have it go to penalties 0-0. I need ideas or suggestions on how to make it better.
That is why I posted it hoping to get feedback and suggestions how to make it better because I have made it as well as I can and I know it needs work but it has potential and it did manage to win me the CL.
gotta say i don't usually like using other peoples tactics but yours looked interesting so i tested it with my newcastle and liverpool games and its absolute class!
i have got richards, snieder and benevente in the midfield with newcastle but used my teenage backups and it worked just as well.
only thing i changed was some set-piece stuff. steven taylor gets loads from corners so i changed that but great tactic.

sounds good. i never really get set piece instructions on any og the cm/fm games so it's something I'm terrible at.
I'm actually tinkering around with a bunch of different versions at the moment, the one I'm on currently has 3 CMs and the fullbacks actually drop backwards and not forwards. Seems to be working great so far, 3 straight 6+ goal games.
Although my jackass chairman decided that he needed to sell several of my players for over $100 million in profit. So now I have 4 new starters, luckily I had good backups.
