a)Should the mentality of GK be the same as your defence?
b)Set GK intructions to his own strengths, i.e. High rushing out = closing down often?

May I suggest we don't stop with discussing the two questions from woteva?
I would like to discuss ALL GK-settings if that's possible.
For instance, I read somewhere that people give mixed forward runs to their GK?!? For real!
And how about distribution? What are your experiences on this subject? Should it be collected by a defender when you play slow tempo and/or short passing? Should it be a long kick when you play quick tempo and/or direct passing and play with Counter Attack? Or do these things have nothing to do with anything?
Like woteva, I'm also very interested how you guys set the closing down for your GK. Too much will probably result in many errors, too little leaves the opposition with too many easy chances...
And how about mentality?!

Well, thnx for your interest Tricolore, I've tried all sorts of mentalities, closing down etc. instructions and unfortunately the "safest" option I find is direct/long passing, defensive or 1 notch above and minimum mentality.
This is a shame as I like to have fun with my saves, anyhow, more thoughts welcome.

Rep Power: 0 | Interesting stuff there, however its as I said with regard to the "normal" keeper s I've called it "safest" option.
Still, I like to have a very similar, if not the same mentality for the GK as the defence, so they're all on the same wavelength.
P.S. I must point out too Cleon regarding Keepers, that I believe "Balance" is very important also |
