Bad luck andy. Though I am sure many people here gonna say it happens too often to be bad luck. I agree to some extent actually. Your goalkeepers in this game seem pretty bad at saving. 3 shots on target for AI and 3 goals?

Let me go into something more theoretical here. Looking at your first match, Southend vs Sunderland, both teams have equal share of possession. As everyone knows, it is hard to have good possession while playing at away grounds, so with your Sunderland having equal possession with Southend, I am going to assume your team/tactics are equal, if not superior, to Southend.

You create total of 18 chances, while Southend create 5. This again suggests that you're the better team (though it is indeed possible that too many of your shots came from long range and are easier to save). However, with 7 shots on target, it is also safe to assume that your team must have had created a couple of decent shots out of those 7 shots on goal.

As stated above, presuming that you have a equal or better team/tactics as compared to Southend, one can also assume that your strikers are equal if not better than those at Southend, and yet out of 7 shots on goal, not even 1 goal is scored. While the AI has 3 shots on goal, there are 3 goals and your goalkeeper fails to make a single save the entire match. This statistic and scoreline suggests that the AI's goalkeeper is better than yours (saving 7 shots as compared to your goalkeeper's 0 shots saved) as well as the AI strikers are better (3 shots, 3 goals as compared to 7 shots, 0 goals) or perhaps, better chances are produced by Southend due to better midfield play from them. This all contradicts the fact that your team/tactics are perhaps equal/superior to theirs, and your team comes into the game in good form.

This has happened to many, and I can understand the frustration because I have lost games which I "should have won easily" many times. But I wouldn't really accuse the AI of cheating, as it doesn't happen that often

Andy your game at the top of the page... who was doing all the off target shots? I could help you if you knew that.

Also games where you are losing late in the game - is this becuase of a 4-2-4 tactic being employed against you? If so are you doing anything to combat it?

No i don't think that the AI cheats, as what happened could have happened in my favour also, i guess.
In any other division i've not mastered it yet but with Sunderland in the Championship i really think i've cracked it.
What i did was use a 'dummy' game to create tactics. I played different scenarios and then saved the tactic for each one when i was happy.
For example, if i was at home and i was slight favourites (around evens) i worked out a tweak that worked really well and saved it. Same again when i was favourites at about 1-4 on.
Then again when i was favs in away games. I found these were the hardest to get right because even though i was sometimes strong favs away it needed a different approach to the home games.
So i had quite a few different saved tweaks but with the same formation in all of them.
I now believe that in the Championship every game is 'winable'. Sometimes i need to change to the Bludgeon 4-2-4 to counter the opposition. I know your supposed to do the opposite and go defensive, but going offensive really works for me and i often score an extra goal.
So using this theory i started a new season, again with Sunderland, when i got through pre-season i used my saved 'tweaks' depending on the next game. It worked brilliant!
I won the first 9 games!! Each tweak wasn't always perfect i needed to tweak each game ingame but this was minimal and very slight.
I really believed in my 'every game is winable' and the 'AI dosn't cheat'. But then i come against 2 draws when i should have won, but still not complaining. But then the home game against QPR.
With my tweaks i really did control the match and they were never a threat until the bizarre incident.
To clarify it...
I was attacking in their half and they cleared the ball into my own half. Not one of their players was anywhere near as it was just a clearence, not a counter attack. My CD ran back towards his own box to the ball and with no one anywhere near him (except his own GK) continued to walk with the ball into his own goal.
Now there was no pass back at all. He walked the ball from just outside the box to inside his own goal. WHY?
When i lose and deserve to that's fine but when i am unbeaton 3 months into the season and that happens, what more can you do?
