This should probably be in the general discussion section, but this is the ambitious kind of crowd I want for this.
I keep reading about the infinite amount of success everyone has had with the biggest and best possible teams and with the best and most expensive possible players and I started wondering - do you ever get bored with it? With winning ALL THE TIME. Since I have sort become one of those "Every year the triple" people, winning doesn't feel like winning anymore.
I miss the days I really didn't know how to win or even how to cheat and win. I'm going to start with a mediocre team (not LLM, I can't do that, tried, didn't work) and see where I can get with them. If I can manage to get success out of "nothing" or "next to nothing" I'll enjoy winning again. Somehow getting a team like Carlisle to the FA Cup Semi Finals, or some odd Belgian team to the UEFA Cup feels so much better than winning the Champions League nine times in a row with Man Utd.
I don't really have a hint or tip here, but I just want to know if anyone of you has had similar feelings and I'd like to know what you have done about them.
It does get boring tbh, the only game with a top team that I can maintain for a few seasons plus is Arsenal, because I support them. Must also add that I'm not great at FM, probably could be but don't spend too much time arseing aroud with tactics, training and whatnot. Therefore it's not like I'm winning 6 trophies a year, thus making games a little less boring.
My problem is that I don't have the patience to stick with a small team untill I get them right to the top. I usually end up going with a mid table team such as Everton, and stick with them for 2 or 3 seasons untill I win the league and do well in Europe

To get success with teams you are suggesting you really need to be tactically aware and get the best tactics to suit the players you have.
It's a tough thing to achieve but some people have managed it.
yeh I was manager of Chelsea, and won everything within the first season and a half (the half because of the euro cup and the world club cup) I soon resigned and took over a league one team which was a lot more satisfying
i did get bored of winning everything and started a new game as umemployed with no rep. got a job at Ituano in brazil. stayed for 6 months before karlsruhe in germany had a vacancy. been there since for last 6/7 years. its been great fun watching them go from 2nd division minnows to European giants
yes you are rights thats why i always start up several games with all different teams offcourse and when i got bored with one i save and go on with one of the lesser teams
i once won the uefa cup with charleroi a small belgian team i was very proud (it took me seven seasons though)
