So, I’m looking to break myself easily in to the demo and for my first challenge (if you can call it that) I thought I’d take the reigns of Chelsea. Now, first off, I had a brief look and couldn’t find a similar thread, though feel free to point one out if I’ve missed it and make me look like an idiot. I’ll try not to hold a grudge.
The team’s obviously a good one from the off, but with £75M in the kitty, there’s plenty of room for improvement. I’ll be attempting to work around the tried, tested and basic 4-4-2 formation, with a bit of attacking flow. For that particular formation, I’ve devised that I’ll need a twenty-two man capable squad, a starting eleven with a back up player for each position.

Diarra, Mikel and Scott Sinclair were first relegated to the reserves because they did not fit into my plans. More surprisingly to some of you, joining them also was ex hammer, Joe Cole, the reason being that I wasn’t in need of an attacking midfielder. He was placed on the transfer list and hopefully, will aid in the financing of other deals.
As you can see, I’m in need of a central defender, right sided midfielder, left sided midfielder and a striker, which is where you come into the fray, your suggestions being integral to my success.
My shortlist:
Central defenders: Leon Andreason, Raul Albiol, Sergio Ramos, John Heitinga
Right-sided midfielders: Jonathan de Guzman, Aaron Lennon, Daniele Dessena

also if you ask for more money the board normally gives you some more
I thought as much. He’s always been a bit of a good ‘un. Used to be a clear favourite of mine back in the days of championship manager. Unfortunately, I’ve sold him already. Made £17.75M as he made his way to Arsenal. The reason I never gave him a chance was because looking at his positions, he’s more of an attacking minded player who doesn’t perform as well where I’d be wanting to play him, which was a crying shame. Still, what’s done is done and all that.
I'll bare the asking for money tip in mind also. Thanks.

I'll be sure to check out Mr. Villa, while I'm already hot on the heels of Silva (they've accepted my offer and we're negotiating terms of contract) though I'm not the only one after him so I might have a bit of a fight on my hand where he's concerned. Finally, on the note of right backs, that's actually not a priority at the moment as I've decent cover for that position.
Alongside the selling of Cole, my first bit of business became the purchase of Leon Andreason, who's managed to fill my centre back void, god bless his soul.

Reason i suggested a RB as i dont rate Geremi as good enough for Chelsea on the game, as for DC definately go for Albiol
Fair enough, I might give one of the two a shot then though I too like the look of Anthony Vanden Borre. Oh and as much as I liked Albiol in the end I went with Andreason, unless you think it'd be wise to replace one of my current other central defenders with the Spaniard?

Latest is that I’ve signed David Villa for a £24M fee and I missed out on Silva who decided that his best bet would be to Atletico on a season long deal despite mine offering him a most generous deal.
Vanden Borre is best for me as a MR/AMR (once trained for the position). He is too weak defensively to play FB as first choice except when chasing a goal in the second half. He is a fine player though, is versatile and will accept playing in patches...which is important for a club like Chelsea. Good buy.
If you want to buy a first XI type why not Phillip Lahm? He can play R/LB leaving you spoiled for choice at both FBs.
If you want a youngster check out Eduardo Ratinho.
As for Left sided midfielders...again why mess around? How about Ribery? Top class and versatile. Malouda (Lyon), or Alex (Fenerbahce). Nani (Sporting).
