This is my first proper attempt on LLM, so I have some questions.
Stevenage is now fighting for promotion after a good run lately, but my finances are declining pretty fast. So I wonder if there's any cash injections of any kind at the end of the season.
It's now february, I have about 100k in the bank, but losing 40-50k a month. Not a good situation. Tried to get rid of many players, but nobody wants them...
Nobody wants new contracts either, so I'm kinda stuck here.
Do I get any money for finished in the top in conference (don't think I can get promotion though, Margate is really flying ahead)?
I assume the sponsor money comes at the end of the season. Correct?
Is there any injections from board or anything that can save my club from receivership?
And another question. After you have scouted, say 3rd division, and found a good bunch of players, is it then okay to search on some attributes, or is that banned no matter what?
On the cash injection, you will just have to see, you will only know when it happens i am afraid.
AFAIK, you should get some money for your finishing place in the league. The higher the position up the league, the more money you get, however I have noticed in the conference some places do not warrant any Prize money. So, I reckon it is only top 10 who get any prize money.
If you go to Finances screen you will see how much money you get per season on your current sponsorship deal. You should also get some Tv money through, but i am not really sure on that either.
Apart from getting that money in and trying to reducing the wage bill, there isn't much else you can do.
Oh, and you can search on attributes if you like, We only have a few rules which are in the header, the rest are guidlines and may or may not be followed.
depending on how tuff your board is you can run a club at a loss for quite a while. that's not to say it's ideal but of your players are good enough for promotion then when you go up you will get more money for gate recpts and any players you sell, more prize money, FA cup also pays out for each round you get through, so I try and get a good team out for those games.
If the board start to make noises and are telling you they are not happy, try asking them for some time to rebuild, though I'm not sure if that works when you troubles are manly financial.
The other thing is to hope for a takeover. The more successful the club, the greater the chance of one.
The biggest thing I have found in terms of controlling your finances is how you control the teams wages. Somehow, I'm making a profit at Leigh RMI.
Thanks for the tips
I might actually pull it off anyway. Got promotion through a very intense playoff final, and at least I have gotten rid of a few players. The problem is I can't afford to renew contracts (believe me I have tried), so my players will leave one by one I suppose...
It's been good fun so far, now I'm hoping to survive in 3rd Division, and for some more to actually see my potatosacks play
I play with Stevenage aswell, only bought 1 player the first season (paid him about £3000 a month), and the money in the bank really disappeared fast.
I had the same problem as you, nobody wanted my players, so I started offering them to the division clubs, first for their original value, then about 5k, then, if still nobody wanted them, I offered them for free. You start with 500k, so giving away a player for free, or selling him for 10k, doesn't make THAT much of a difference imo.
I got rid of about 8 players this way, and once I got below my wage budget, the finances started to increase.
I finished first in the Conference, and got 100 or 200k for that place. Also, after the "summer update", I got about the same amount for TV rights the following season.
Best advice is to stay below the wage budget, if you do that you wont go bankrupt
