Another idea for future editions of CM that would help LLMs: the ability to voluntarily switch FA Cup ties from a home to an away game.
Playing as a Conference team, I found myself with the good fortune to have a 3rd round tie against a huge Premiership club but was forced to play it at my 8,000 capacity stadium. IRL this game would have been switched and played at the huge 50,000 seater Premiership stadium and I would have solved my money troubles for the next few seasons. As it was I had to try, unsuccessfully, to force a replay. I have a friend who got $350,000 in gate receipts from a similar cup game played at the Premiership home ground. I could frankly do with that sort of money
After this seasons Farnborough fiasco the FA will be clamping down on this. Switching for financial reasons will not be allowed. Clubs will only be allowed to switch if their home ground is unable, for safety reasons, to host the game.
iamthequinn. Should the Pilgrims be fortunate enough to draw the mighty Bluebirds in the cup this season get your arse up to Ninian. I'll get you a ticket somewhere near my burberry clad friends. [disclaimer: obviously in no way do I condone football related violence, unless it's against teams who play in green ]

Very generous of you, Mkus. I might just hold you to that
No team is allowed to switch the tie for financial reasons, although Farnborough's case was very dodgy.
Throughout recent years there have been a number of non league teams who were very happy to play their ties at home, such as Dagenham v Charlton, Morecombe v Ipswich, Stevenage v Newcastle (Stevenage even nearly got a result in the replay at St James Park) and not forgetting Sutton beating Coventry around 15 years ago.
What is far more reasonable are teams switching to a larger local ground, such as Newcastle Town v Notts County played at the now demolished Victoria Ground, Vauxhall Motors v QPR at Chester and so forth.

Especially as the chairman ended up taking the gate receipts and leaving!
Many clubs are quite happy to host the game against a big club. In fact, in the German Cup, lower league teams are automatically having home games if they play higher division teams. The thing not modelled in CM is that for those games the small clubs usually build temporary stands or move to a nearby bigger stadium to accomodate the demand, but most wouldn't want to switch it to an away game.

Don't forget that the chairman also took the whole back four, three midfielders, the assistant manager and the head coach to his new club (Stevenage). All within 72 hours of the cup tie.
Huh. As an Australian, I'm afraid I am out of the lower league loop. What the heck happened at Farnborough? The chairman cashed in and made himself scarce?
Hmmm... wouldn't put that past my CM4 chairman. I knew there was a reason he won't build me a decent training ground. Why do there seem to be so many loony lower league chairmen? They always seem to be siphoning club profits or burning the stand down or something. Maybe there should be an "eccentricity" rating for chairmen too.
With regards to Mr Westley and the Farnborough situation, I as a Stevenage fan can assure those who are interested that Mr Westley doesn't command a lot of respect around the town. Many fans think he sees our club as another stepping-stone on his way up the league ladder. He himself has said that if he gets Stevenage into the 2nd division in the next 3-4 years, he'll feel he has proved himself a good manager and would want to further his reputation elsewhere. We have a decent squad for Conference level and the chances are we could get another big FA Cup tie and I wouldn't be surprised if he did a runner afterwards, just like at Farnborough
