Is it still LLMing to find players by looking in the stats/awards screens in the leagues, and deciding to scout a player who is top scorer for my division, or has won young player of the month or something, or do they have to come out of my scout reports. Cos real managers would have access to information like this.
Nick. What you have to ask yourself is this. Is it realistic? If you think it is then use it. Most questions regarding guidlines and newbies can be answered by using that question. Welcome to LLM by the way.

you can get your information from almost anywhere (within reason, not the quick search or gpg for example). Real life managers, such as my ex-sunday league boss would get information of mate down the pub, and pop off to see them play.
it's all about scouting.
if Whinger heard that some guy was banging them in 2 per game for bocca J he would send some one out there to see how good he really was, or if some maxipax tampax league manager was reading the local rag to see his main rivals had a top draw defender he would go and have a look.
Just make sure you scout them first before signing them. and scout them a couple of times to be sure!!
