I'm currently a Dutch manager playing german regional Div North. And was thinking about moving clubs.
I have a tendancy to move clubs a lot and was wondering what other than wins (games, cups, leagues, awards) affected your overall reputation.
Does your nationality, or the country you play in affect your reputation. and is it easier to get jobs if you were say English, spanish, french rather than Ugandan, or swiss.
Being lower league does the leaguge you play in affect your reputation ie. is the english conference a higher rated league than the German regionals?
This may be a Sh*te question, but a few pints and a lack of job offers can affect a guy
Though to be fair, at least in 01/02, it's fairly hard to get a job in England if you're a non-English speaker unless you're willing to go into a lower division. In my Toulouse-Auxerre-Reading game, I went from 1st Div champions to the English 2nd even though I was in the top 100 worldwide, almost certainly due to the language issue.
Can only speak for CM3, but doing well in one country can easily get you top jobs in another.
I had a game where I was reasonably successful in the Croatian Second Division, and when I moved to Scotland (Dumbarton) I was ranked 3rd in the country. Probably not the best example, but success in one country certainly counts in another.
Not that Dumbarton's a top job btw...but I could've applied for one of the bigger clubs in Scotland and expected to be appointed once I moved there.
Yes it does help once you get into the new country. But you still have to look for a jon in a lower division. You rarely if ever can go 1st Division France to Premiership England--or even 1st Division in all likelihood. Whereas if you started in England and were moving from a Premiership side you could get into anyone's top flight except maybe the Bundesliga and Serie A.
