Hello LLaMas,
I just started with East Fife, and my Ass. man got snapped up two weeks in. Now I am trying to find a new one. I wanted some views on hiring a new one. Specifically, I felt that it would not be in the spirit of the thing to hire an ass. man at more money than I as manager am making. What's the thought on this? I am having a hard time finding any ass. man who will work for the lowe wages I feel I can afford to pay (and what I want to pay as a matter of principle).

You can easily pick up staff that are Very good for around £40 p/w. That is far too unrealistic for me. What i do is Have basic minimum wage, have some general 9ish-5 hours and then add it up over the week. That gives it a round about a decent wage. This is for all my staff. I give the scouts a bit less than this mins you.

I wouldn't pay any member of staff more than me, but that really isn't an issue in my game... My new Assistant asked for £40 p/w, and that's what he got...

He's pretty good too, I would happily have paid him more, but it all helps keep the wage bill down.

Certainly true, but for me we're a part time team in the Second Division of Yugoslavia... Although he does have a full time contract... Hmmm

Sometime I hare a coach with good Man Management and Judging player ability attribute values as an assistant manager. After all many a Manager has started out by coaching.

Usually I go for player/coaches or player/assistant managers. I feel that this is quite realistic since full-time staff would be quite hard to find at a LLM club, and usually there's no coaches/ass.managers around anyway (well, at least it was that way in my &gt;20 season Croatian savegame)

Oh, and I love it when those players that went through every up and down with me quit and still stay as coach or whatever. It makes me feel like if I had a friendship with them.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I did finally find a guy to come on board at a reasonable wage, and I expanded my search so that ended with a coach as my Ass. Man...hadn't thought of that!

I was thinking about some of the really low wages you see, and I wonder if these are accurate, like L40 a week? Seems like you could make more flipping hamburgers . But I don't know much about football. Maybe it's like a lot of minor league hockey teams here in the US where there is a sad basic wage, but its made up for in with a lot of perks, such a free apartment (or a stipend for housing), some meal plan etc.

Lastly, since I just started playing CM, I wonder if the wage it shows for you as manager ever changes? I was a bit dismayed that I was putting myself through the embarrassment of a basement table position for a mere L110 a week

Try attempting to sign someone who's interested in being an ass man. It always helps me
