The Dugout is still pretty much a tipster's site, so I expect you'll have to employ much patience in the opening phase.

Good luck.

I guess it's a fine balance between spreding the LLM word and telling the world how the game should be played and offering a watered down pick a lower league side no rules or guidelines, and off you go type of thing.

Get it right and you could have your self a few more true converts over there CMW. KUTGW

GR doesn't condone the use of the Find button etc but we don't go on and on and on and on about how we're playing the right way and everyone else isn't. And I think I'm probably not alone in wondering how the plethora of comments along the lines of *cracks open beer waiting for barbeque to start* actually encourages people to play lower league according to your little rules. But that might just be me.

Oh and from my understanding of the troubled mind of the owner of tD, Mark, the new forum was originally intended so that people could talk about tactics and players useful for Lower Leagues. So there might be a conflict of interests there.

Like Narciso, I'm a regular at the Dugout messageboards, not the main site, but the messageboards. The Grass Roots forum that has been mentioned is a place for stories mainly, but we do talk the usual amount of garbage on there too. We do have certain rules, such as yourselves (including not using the Find button, I may add), but I don't think that we are as strict with them as you. Player tipping and the like is very much frowned upon, and s suitably edited out by our mods.

Don't get me wrong though, I do occasionally visit this site and read through the posts, but as there are so many users on here, it's hard to reply to so many topics without neglecting to read the others, so I don't post as often as I'd like to. The GR forum in the Dugout has pretty much become a shadow of it's former self, as CM4 has killed our passion for the story telling, the reasons for this are well known to you of course.

The regulars there are up in arms about the new forum created by Mark (who's rarely there, BTW) as we don't see the point in having it there. We already have a forum for the purpose, but when originally proposed, the object of his forum was to ave sections actually about tactics and great players to sign. We pointed out to him that it wasn't the way LLM should be played and he said that he'll "have to take that bit out".

We're opposed to a duplicate forum and the (what I see as) arrogant "birthing of LLM" phrase used in the opening message from the moderator. It's true that the forum isn't as used as much as it was, but there's no need for another.

Can I ask for a Grass Roots forum here somewhere and call it LLaMa-lite?

That's a slight exaggeration to be honest. If people ignore the header (re: use of editors, tactic tipping etc.) then they get told otherwise. There are only a few 'rules', and you're encouraged to let your conscience be the guide.

As Rob said. We only have a few rules. We play LLM the way we like to play it. We don't go into the other forums here and preach on how LLM is the only way to play the game and playing with man ure sucks.

"GR doesn't condone the use of the Find button etc but we don't go on and on and on and on about how we're playing the right way and everyone else isn't."

If people want to play the game and edit all their favourite stars to their favourite club, then that is upto them. We don't care as long as they don't post here.
