I knew there was a good reason I picked Billericay. All these pubs!
Fourth Update - Riding High
My God. I've shocked even myself, never mind the board, the fans and the rest of the Conference. I was hoping for a good season, but I was never prepared for what was going to happen.
The first thing that happened in this session was the climax to the European Championships 2012 played in Denmark. Germany and Holland progressed to the final, where the sunbed lovers beat the clog wearers (got to love blinkered stereotyping!) by a single goal in front of nearly 42,000.
Back down to earth, and my pre season preparations were starting. I signed a Scottish striker on trial.
F Hampton & Richmond 4 Billericay 2 (560) Scottish trialist scored before my keeper got sent off (just like he did in the FA Cup at the weekend IRL) and after that we got slaughtered.
4 older players retired, only one is considered to be a loss. Two stayed on as decent coaches.
F Ganghester 1 Billericay 3 (714) The first of two Swedish matches saw a second Scottish trialist striker scorer, and the first one had played well enough in three games for me to sign him.
F Nike 2 Billericay 2 (293) Despite the score, this match was rather uneventful. Hopes of signing a lucrative sponsorship deal with a famous sports company did not come off.

After beating relegated Maidenhead, before pre season two things happened of note.
One of my retired players turned decent coach buggered off to Dunfermline, me earning a meagre £16,000 in compensation.
My second Scottish trialist was sent packing as his first game was a flash in the pan. He joins Iajafer on the Scottish scrapheap!

Time for business to start.
C1 Billercay 2 Southend 0 (1577) TV match. Headbutt M C and 'Sven' score. 2 new signings make their debut, whilst two others, including ex Port Vale striker picking up minor pre season injuries. Billericay are top of the league! However, only for 4 hours as Hastings win 3-1 in the afternoon.
C3 Huddersfield 2 Billericay 0 (5217) Another TV match. A disappointing defeat drops us our first points after defeating Telford 3-0 at home.
C5 Billericay 5 Doncaster 3 (1518) Ex Valey bags a brace to open his account in his third game.
WCQ Malta 3 Northern Ireland 3 (5517) Bad but resilient, we equalisied three times in our opening World Cup qualifier.
C6 Aldershot 0 Billericay 1 (3483) Ex Valey ends our rival's 100% start.
WCQ Northern Ireland 1 Greece 0 (18,495) Our ten men fend off a final half hour Greek onslaught.
C7 Billericay 2 Hastings 0 (2263) My Scot scores as we swap places with Hastings and go top. It's a long way down from here!
C9 Billericay 0 Vauxhall Motors 1 (2379) Our record league crowd see us surrender a last minute goal and top spot in the process.
C11 Billericay 1 Hayes 0 (2663) Another record crowd see Ex Valey score, us play most of the match with 10 men and finish with 9 after an injury after I had used all my subs, We're back to the top and with the best defensive record.
My red carded midfielder does not agree with being warned for pushing his opponent, so I agree to his transfer request and stick him in the reserves for further punishment.
C13 Billericay 3 Basingstoke 0 (1955) Ex Valey scores his first hatrick, taking his tally to 8 in 9.
WCQ Northern Ireland 2 Belgium 3 (18,457) Two late goals turn an excellent victory into a barely believable defeat.
WCQ Germany 2 Northern Ireland 1 (76,218) Then Germany show us why they are European Champions, the score not reflecting their dominance.
FACQ Crawley 2 Billericay 0 (4952) The FA Cup and Billericay go together like chalk and cheese. The referee for this match is named Mr K. Selleslags. Rumours of him being a pimp are not confirmed.
C15 Carlisle 1 Billericay 5 (6769) A second hatrick for ex Valey, with four of our goals coming in the last half hour. Ex Valey now has club record for League goals in a season, having scored 11 in 13 games. Also the club's record victory to date.
F Wales 1 Northern Ireland 1 (10,746) I guess it's the wrong shaped ball judging by the size of the crowd.
FAT2 Billericay 4 Southport 3 (693) We avenge last seasons 4th Round defeat, we played 10 a side for over an hour.

Yep, it's correct! Billericay in second in the table shock! I have been very pleased with our performances and results so far. My D C with my surname that I had on loan early last season and got on a Bosman has been outstanding, as has his defensive partner, the club captain and ex pro who is on a paltry part time £85 per week!

Ex Valey is banging them in from everywhere, except in the bedroom as Vale players are notoriously ugly :p The Scot hasn't done as well as I had hoped, though he does play well with Valey. My Swede is doing fine on the right, whilst 'Sven' is now a regular sub.
My manager ranking is now 79th average in England and 388th poor in the World.
Club has money! £33,231 to be precise, exactly zero of which I can spend.
My only moan of this section is I've twice had a Billericay match clash with a Northern Ireland match, and if I go on holiday I miss them both. So I'm having some serious thoughts about giving up the Irish job.
