I'm an inspiration.

It's fine by me if you want to leave your game on holiday mode. I did the exact same thing on this game, as I wanted it to be a bit different. I let it run for 10 seasons, so all the real players in their prime now will be retired or has beens while all the wonderkids will be coming to the end of their prime. There would be lots of generated players and the leagues will have been mixed up a bit. I then chose one of the two Conference teams to come up that season that didn't have a manager, if I remember right I chose Billericay over Maidenhead (who finished bottom).

You'll find that Canvey Island normally get promoted to the Conference quite quickly, whilst Billericay is a bit hit and miss, some times I've seen them come up later on, sometimes I haven't.
I don't think Basildon are high enough up the league pyramid to get promoted in CM3.

Anyway, enough. Welcome to Michael Jackson's monkey. (Maybe he should pick Exeter?)

Oh, you won't be able to update your progress. Mkus, Dirk Dork and myself are the only ones allowed as we had long standing updates running when updates were banned, so they were allowed to continue, though Dirk Dork has now retired his.

Oh for feck's sake...

Please help me!

That thread, albeit very long due to a mass of technical info (which quite frankly baffled me and gave me a headache), sums it all up. If any of you llamas are technically gifted, I'd be most grateful.

Otherwise, this game has gone to the dogs and nearly 10 days of play and 33 ish seasons have gone down the swanny.

Well, if I can't get it fixed, at least I beat my previous longest game by 8 seasons (actual playing). 23 isn't a bad effort.

Email on the way Nobby, I've been able to rescue a couple of savegames from this sort of thing, I'm on Windows 98 as well so hopefully it'll work on yours as well.

Cheers Robbo. Received e-mail, though the problem I have is I get the error messages before it crashes, so it seems the save file itself is corrupted.
