Has anyone else noticed that in lower leagues (well, I've only played Blue Square North so far) when you send a scout out to search for English players he tends to come back with a majority of suggestions from clubs in the local area?
Admittedly most of them are players who we could only loan rather than consider buying, but I like the fact that my scout has seemingly looked mostly for "local" players. I'm limiting myself to only signing players from my local area ('local' in my case meaning probably up to 40 miles away in some cases, but still from the same region) so it is a very welcome and surprise boost that my scout appears to be on my wavelength without me even telling him I want only local players!
I wonder if this is an extension (or whatever the opposite is) of the implementation limiting where you are allowed to scout. Obviously the smallest limit the board can set is just this nation, but it seems within that your scout will limit himself...or is it just my scout being agreeably lazy?
i also found this. when i was hampton and richmond the majority of players were from clubs such a QPR or Crystal Palace (London based teams) and while I've been enjoying my time up north with Altrincham I have been getting a lot of results from clubs like Forest and Wolves. Very nice, if not very spoken about touch!!
Yep. Have a lot of Leeds (or ex-Leeds by now) players on my shortlist at Harrogate. My scouts don't seem to be impressed with Bradford city players though.

In Argentina I am not able to send my scouts within the country - only within South America either a particular nation or the whole continent. I think it is because there is already one scout working within Argentina... Could it be that scouts are territorial?
