Default I am new to FM, please help me with Tottenham Hotspur
I seem to win my friendly games but the minute the premiership starts, I start to loose really badly.

Can anyone advise with tactics and formations.

I'd suggest starting out with an old favourite of mine tactically - a 4132 will give you a nice compact formation which has strength in defense because of the defensive midfielder sitting back (if he's good enough then he'll also be the platform for building attacks by distributing the ball).
