Please please please please SI give us the chance to give a reason for leaving a club.
I spent 4 years at Bayern Munich, won everything but became increasingly miffed with the dithering board, who constantly thwarted my efforts to sign coaches and never seemed happy even if I exceeded expectations.
I left for Milan where the same thing happened. Milan had finished 8th the year before and when I took over I had them 4 points clear by Christmas, still in the Coppa Italia but I had been dumped out of Europe and lost the European super cup so they felt "I should be performing slightly better". I won the double at the end of the season and resigned.
Downloaded FMM, went in and checked each clubs relations and noticed that both clubs dislike me to a score of 100/100.
The confidence does need looked at but interaction with the fans would be great. Even the media item on my departure from Milan was a bit drab, only stating that I had decided to leave. I had just won Milan's first league title in 5 years, done the double, improved the balance by 50m and had 90m to spend on new recruits, the football world should have been stunned.
Give us a couple of onptions on resigning e.g.
- Done all I can with ??? and feel I need to move on.
- Want to test myself at a higher profile club.
- Poor relationship with board.
- The board had made no efforts to offer me a new contract so I had to look elsewhere.
With the above suggestions there is enough scope for the fans of the club you are leaving to either appreciate your reasons or hate your guts.
Even if they just expanded the current level of interaction that we receive when touted for another job. At the moment the only options available are negative towards the club itself or show personal ambition rather than giving us a chance to reaffrim our loyalty but show the situation is out of our hands, or question the clubs loyalty to you.
Another good reason - leaving because the board sells your best players over your head when a high offer comes in, even when finances are good. This happened to me at West Ham, I finished third in my first year and had built up a team of young twenty-somethings with loads of potential. Then Inter come in with a bid of 7M for my star defender, which the board accepts. Failing that you should at least be able to offer an ultimatum to the board that if they sell player X, then you leave too.
