Considering the amount of posts on these forums about changes to the PA system, I considered what would be the best way to implement a new PA system. This involves having a specific PA for anyone banded 14-18, 18-21 and 22+.
For example, you might have youngsters who are talented and may have a high PA, andnear the time they turn 18 their PA may have filled up, eg 140/160. Their PA and CA will then change for the next age group e.g. 70CA and 90PA or 190PA. By the time this fills up come 22 the CA and PA will change again for the final time, but any drops will be less significant, say +/- 25%. e.g. if at 21 CA/PA stood at 180/190, it may turn into 160/200 or 160/160.
This would give the game a lot more ground for finding talented players as their PA would be hard to work out if a 15 year old talented player would be world class in 10 years time. Or maybe a less talented player at 15 who would begin training at 17 may turn into a decent player through hard work (Ian Wright is a real life example). The latter would be rare.
This would make aqcuiring youngsters a new challenge and more fun as you would be more interested in following the youngsters path and following them up perhaps in the U18's or U1's to discover they won't improve anymore and end up in a team in League 1 or Championship etc.
This isn't a variable PA because the PA wouldn't change inside the age group. The stats would be the same but the CA's and PA's will change once the player has aged.
Please post your thoughts on this. It is just an idea, the current system works fine as it is but this could be one for the future.

Not sure how this could work - consider the likes of fabregas and messi - how would they fit into/distort the age level based PAs you're talking about?
would we be the reason for having different PA's for age groups?
i can't see the reason in your post.
you seem to be suggesting that finding a 15 year old talented player currently would be easy to work out that he would be a great player in future.
this is not the case within FM as players can be talented at a young age but not make it later on.
