I was scouting for players pre-season in 2013 and I noticed Argentina hammered Brazil 4-0 in the Confederations cup. So being curious as to why, I took a look at the world rankings and noticed they were rather unusually placed, as were some other sides...
Is there a known issue with this, or have England and Brazil in particular suffered some kind of disaster in my game which has destroyed their national sides?
In case it matters, I am running Large database with all English divisions and the top divisions from French, Italian, Spanish, Scottish and MLS leagues.
Its not really that surprising that Ivory Coast have done so well because they have the same advantage that USA and Mexico have irl. That being that they play most of their games against very bad teams, boosting their rankings compared to better teams who face stiffer competition. As a result the real life rankings usually have the USA and Mexico around the top 10, and in your game the Ivory Coast have done well too, even though 4th is probably a little higher than should be expected.
Something I've noticed in nearly every CM/FM game, Brazil are never as good as real life. Maybe partly because I never load the leagues most of their players are in mind you.

And yes, McLaren is still England manager. That is despite getting knocked out of the group stage of the 2010 world cup and failing to qualify for Euro 2012.
England started slipping on mine after I failed to qualify for a tournament and then they kept getting worse, down to 29th now. Nigeria are top team in the world at the moment.
