so, playing as Barcelona...thought it would be a walk in the park, an attempt to test out a few tactical theories...unfortunately I didn't factor the player personalities into the equation....
2 games in to the season, Messi and Milito both get sent off in separate games...I thought both were unfair....one was an elbow after 15 minutes and the other was a rash challange, which I thought was due a yellow at the most, so I appealed on both occasions....both failing....during the next two weeks, Thuram pipes up saying he's concerned at the lack of managerial discipline, and then it started....I now have at least 6 players that either wish to murder Messi or Milito, or both....and even Messi hates Milito..
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there any advice to get my players to kiss and make up?
He did take action...he appealed the sending off of a player who elbowed someone in the face! No wonder your squad are concerned by your standards of discipline.
Why does it matter when it happened? If you elbow someone in the face you deserve a straight red. You are perfectly entitled to think it harsh (although since the 2d view doesn't show arms, let alone elbows it's hard to see how you could judge!), but your players are unlikely to agree, except perhaps the one who threw the elbow.

especially after only 15 minutes!
An elbow is a red card offence in the 1st or 89th minute and the time of the offence is irrelevant. It is pointless appealing any red card unless you have strong evidence that it was wrong or you get a commentary line that it was harsh- even then it is still a bit of a lottery.

hmmmmm....I guess I'm more old school in mentality, and I don't think an elbow is a sending off offence if the act is not deliberate...
I was really looking for some advice on the situation, not really after a debate on the laws of the game....
LOL - Its the laws of the game that have to be factored into the game
I suspect the correct action you should have taken was to warn the player who get a red card. That would likely have prevented you current predicament
In terms of appeals / comments to the press I've too see any gain from doing this in-game so whilst an option, its best ignored since at best the FA remain silent to any valid criticism of a referee's action
Its probably the elbow one that got them. It's a red card offence, as written in the rules of the game. So they maybe got upset for that reason. I'm not sure. The best thing to do is start using the fine button more often, they will soon stop moaning.
