I think it would be great if you could amend your favorite/most disliked club/players/staff during the game, so say in 2012 when you have been the manager of... Morton for 4/5 seasons, you could add Peter Weatherson to your favorite players and Morton to your favorite club and add the manager of East Stirling as a disliked person because he berates you every time you play each other,

Just an example.

Or would this breed unecessary hatred?

I could see this - I've often thought it would be nice to add a player to my "Favorite Personnel" list, especially those who have stood by me for years.

Clubs, too - if I started "unemployed" with, say, Manchester United as my "Favorite Club", but I land at Bramall Lane for fifteen years, I really would like to add "Sheffield United" to my favorite clubs.

I could see this being put in and it could lead to alot more media items about your friendships. I also like the idea that I can put my rivals manager as disliked personnel. When I manage The Owls I always abuse the Sheff Utd manager.

Yeah spot on. I start many games as unemployed and while tranmere/chelsea are normally as my favoured club (depending on my aspirations) i would like the option to change this - similarly fav personnel would be a nice addition - could add some media comments related to this if you sign people regarded as your fav personnel (e.g. carvalho & paulo to chelsea when jose joined).

I guess the other way to go here would be to allow media interaction to influence those attributes.

For example, I don't just get to click somewhere and say "Peter Weatherson is my favourite club," but actions I take towards him might indicate that he was:
1. "Declare Interest" in player
2. Praise player
3. Say I'll miss him when he's out injured
4. Not disciplining him when he gets a red card
5. Refusing to sell him at any price
6. (Very slowly) Starting him in matches

Likewise, the club thing, maybe actions like:
1. When I turn down other job offers
2. Using a media moment to declare my love for my current club
3. New media items which let me praise a club I'm not managing
4. Signing new contract at same club

etc.

This should be about perception, not your own personal opinion.

So your favoured personnel should be how the fans/media see you ("He always picks so-and-so...").
Comments you make to the media should influence it too and who you hire/sign.
Future media additions should allow you to openly state your admiration for the attitude etc of your own players.

Stuff like that. We shouldn't just set it.

good idea, we definitely should be able to have our own "favoured personnel" but just how do we get them?? do we set them on our own?? do we accrue them as the game goes on?? or is it a combination of both, where you could set maybe 3 (dis)liked people/clubs at the start of the game, and the rest you "collect" as the game progresses?!
