Hve you tried renaming the Arsenl berry shirt as "Arsenal 1.png" for home and then adjusting the config file so that the only details for an Arsenal home shirts shows as the "Arsenal 1.png" line?
That may be for downloaded kits only though.

Actualy it may be possible to get Arsenal to wear the Claret kit after season one (depends if the coding of the colour change messes up the normal kit - haven't edited Arsenals home kit myself). New game - go into the editor to Arsenal and change the kit colour for there home kit to the Claret/Red Current colour you want and the trim to gold. That should make the title bar and player dots claret after the first season, though it wont make the kit show up on the match screen in season 1. Existing game -
Browse to \Football Manager 2006\data\db\inc\all open up one of the inc files you have there with notepad (doesn't matter which one). If you don't have any you'll have to create a new text file name it whatever you want and change the file extension to .inc
Now you want to paste in the following lines into the file:
<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> # Arsenal Home Kit"COLOUR_CHANGE"6020001002003101102103 </pre>
- Before saving the file you need to edit the numbers 001, 002, 003, 101, 102, 103 so they are the colours of the arsenal kit. They are RGB colurs, I can not remember which way round they are but the numbers 001, 002 and 003 should currently apply to the text colour (white or gold), whilst the numbers 101, 102 and 103 apply to the background colour (the redcurrent colour). (If this is the wrong way around when you get into the game switch them around).
001 & 101 - amount of Red.
002 & 102 - amount of Green.
003 & 103 - amount of Blue.
You'll need to know the RGB colour for your kit (these can be found in the editor or in an image editing program).
The RGB value for Arsenal's Red Current Colour should be: 079 009 033.
White is: 255 255 255
Gold is: 161 130 023.
If you want Arsenal's kit to be Red Current with Gold Text (the trim isn't chosable and goes to the background colour) paste this bit of code in:
<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> # Arsenal Home Kit"COLOUR_CHANGE"60201611302379933 </pre>
If that is the wrong way around use this code:
<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> # Arsenal Home Kit"COLOUR_CHANGE"60207993316113023 </pre>
When you have pasted in one line of code (Only use one not both - otherwise it won't work). save the file, you may need to unread only it and make sure it keeps the same extension.
Load up FM and in your next match your kit should be the above colour (provided you are in the second season), this will only affect future matches, any previous matches will have you using the kit you used in game. To get the orignal kit back, just delete the file or the lines you added to the file.
(The file extension and directory may not be inc - the i may be replaced by an L, make sure the file extension if you have to create a new file has the same name as the folder)

i have never had the Arsenal kit problem at all.
I have always had the Arsenal claret working in my game, and never changed a thing.
I am in my third season and it still shows up in my game.

is there a way of defining the colour to a single year? for instance using it for a kit change every season?

| You can use the code I posted above. When you get to the end of the season change the RGB values in the file and the next game you play will have the team wearing those colours. (If you are running more than one save you'll have to move the file to a different folder or comment out the lines using # so the changes don't apply to the save you don't want them to).
If you want the code above to affect away and third kits (the team have to have a third kit already it wont create one) change the 0 after Arsenals ID (602) to 1 for away kits and 2 for third kits.
I think Ter said in the suggestions thread he wanted/hoped/expected seasonal changes would be added to a future version of the game, though this will be several years away until we have an semi-auto method via the editor.
I also think the year codes that you can add to the config file only work for teams that have changes programmed into the game (it worked for Arsenal home but not the away IIRC).
