I don't have much time atm (A-Level revision), so I'll add some points at another time.
To get to the point, how influential do you feel the countries style of play is to your tactic choice? Have you ever succeeded in playing a non-conventional style, i.e high tempo Italian football?
It'd also be interesting to try and establish the do's and don'ts in each country. For instance I've never seen a sweeper work in the Premiership, and a playmaker is hard to use too.
I know some things may be stating the obvious, but it'd be interesting to see how fundamental it is to play a countries style to succeed, or if it isn't that necessary at all.

The game is not intelligent enough to make tactics influential etc in other countires. As far as FM knows each league is the same, hopefully this is a feature that will be included though at some point.

In '06 and '07 I've managed in England, Romania, Italy, the Ukraine and Switzerland.
I haven't really noticed any real difference in playing styles to be honest, not even in this newest version. Sure, certain countries favour certain formations (the English play 4-4-2 almost exclusively, the Ukranians prefer to play three at the back), the actual style of play only seems to be dictated by the standard of players. For example, the top teams in Romania play a weird 3-4-3 kind of thing with short, sharp passing, whereas the lower teams play more of a hard, long ball style. The same is true in England, though almost exclusively using the 4-4-2 from Torquay United to Manchester United.
I've heard (I think it was from Cleon) that plans are afoot to bring "national traits" into the game, which is quite intruiging, particularly after recent debates over the approaches of messrs. Le Guen, Benitez and Wenger. How this will be implimented, who knows.
If it's of any use to you, I used a 3-5-2 quick, direct, counter-attacking system at Walsall, Basel, UTA Arad, Shakhtar Donnetsk and Foligno and have had reasonable success. I think the determinant of playing style, however, appears to be ability rather than postcode.

I might be wrong but having managed in spain and england i think the weather is generally dryer in spain than england and so suits a shorter passing game which i like to play if i can.
I could of course but well wide of the mark but thats the impression i've had from playing the game in both countries.

I usually play starting with a team in Singapore and the weather there is mostly hot with certain month having plenty of rain. So should I put my teams passing to mixed just to be on the safe side?

| I'd play with whatever works until it doesn't, then come up with something else.
Seriously, I think it's best to completely ignore the weather until you have some idea about how your team plays in ideal conditions. Then change to a more mixed or direct game if it doesn't seem to work in the poor weather.
