i noticed that many people are trying to create a universal tactic that could work for every team you play.
But i think it's impossible. you can't create a unique tactic for Arsenal, Chelsea or Man Utd that is effective with exeter...
so i have an idea. Why not creating a tactic for every team you play ?
1.Find what are your strenght & weekness
for every team you'll play, you have to find what are your strenght & weekness.
if you see you have good wingers with a possible target man upfront, why not trying normal 433 ?
once you've found it, here is the creation.
2. adapt the individual instructions that fit your players
This is what i use, and it's very effective.
for the mentality, i look at the finishing note of the player.
if my player has a 14, i put the mentality to 14, if he has 7, the mentality will be 7...
for the creativity, i look at his creativity ... simple no ?
for the pass, i look at pass + collectif (team work ?)
for closing down, i look at agressivity + activity (sorry if it isn't the good names)
for 'tackling', i look at tackling ^^
if he's 10- i put it to easy
if he's 11> and <15 to normal
if he's > 15, hard
for 'forward runs', i look at pace + acceleration + [appels de balle]
if he's 10- i put it to rarely
if he's 11> and <15 to normal
if he's > 15, often
for 'run with the ball' i look at dribble + technical
if he's 10- i put it to rarely
if he's 11> and <15 to normal
if he's > 15, often
for 'long shots' i look at long shots
if he's 10- i put it to rarely
if he's 11> and <15 to normal
if he's > 15, often
for 'through balls' i look at pass + decision
if he's 10- i put it to rarely
if he's 11> and <15 to normal
if he's > 15, often
3. Team instructions
i most of the time let mentality, creative freedom, closing down and passing style to normal, as the individual instructions take care of that.
for the tempo, it depends with if i'm playing home / away and depends with the weather.
low one if i'm at home, high one away
low one if it's dry, high one when wet
for the width, it's the same, i like playin wide when i'm @ home and the contrary when away from home.
for the time wasting, it depends on how the match goes on and what the scout report is learning me. if i know that it will be a hard match, i try to play around 12/13.
i never exced 15 and never go below 5 because i noticed your team isn't playing well that way. if it is below 5, your players are trying to move the ball away as fast as possible, and most of the time, they lose it. if it's over 15, my players aren't playing together anymore. they're trying to keep the ball as long as possible, and they finish by losing it ...
Finally, for the defensive line, it depends on what the scout is telling me. if they have pacey strikers, i play with a deep one. if they don't, i play with a D-Line around 12/13.
just try it and tell me what you think, and what the attributes that could be picked to improve that way to see how to create tactics.
hi everyone, good post mate it is interesting to see the different ways that you create your tactics, never thought of using the sliders to the equivelant of the player attributes. I will try it tomorrow. Also one quick question what formation would you recommend using when using two pacey strikers. cheers mate.
for the mentality, i look at the finishing note of the player.
if my player has a 14, i put the mentality to 14, if he has 7, the mentality will be 7...
Surely not on defenders tho? I dont understand that bit of your post, so what if I have a DMC in the DMC position who I want to be defensife but has 15 in finishing, then you would put his mentality onto attacking?
for 'forward runs', i look at pace + acceleration + [appels de balle]
if he's 10- i put it to rarely
if he's 11> and <15 to normal
if he's > 15, often
Those are two attributes, what if one is 20 and one is 10?

when you say you look at the finishing note of the player, what do you look at then?
in exemple, if henry has 18, i set his insividual mentality to 18, for gallas, he has 6, i put his mentality to 6.

i struggle most on what individual mentalitys to set and also on the amount of individual creating freedom
look at the creativity rate of the player (exemple Rosicky has 18, i set his creative freedom to 18)

thanks mate, in fact it can work with all the tactics. with 2 pacey strikers, you can play a flat 442, or a 4411 if you have a good AMC.

In fact if you have DMC with a finishing of 15, i think you can make him play in another role than DMC (at least MC). but i tried it and it worked to. if you'r affraid about that, you can reduce this. it's just a base of working.

i put the average so, 15 but here there are 3 attributes, but i don't know what is the name in english for appels de balle.

Eh, I just tried this and lost at home to reading 3-2, they had 3 shots on target.
O_o sorry it doesn't work, who are you playin' with ? and what is the formation you're using with ?
