It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Yes I would - Genie Scout gives him an Assistant Rating of 72.60% in my current game - the only EPL Assistant Managers with a better rating are Pako Ayestatan (Liverpool), and Mark Bowen (who was at Blackburn).

Leave it to Irvine or try to get Mark Bowen.

Sorry was in another forum so apologise for the late reply - The trick is to do a search for a staff member and use the filter to pick the attributes you need for an ass man... Like I said Motivating but also man handling, Judging player potential and ability...

Start with all of them pn about 15 and see how many staff members turn up in the search and then raise the attributes slowly until you are down to about 5-10 then pick the one who is best suited and also will come to your club...

As I said above My ass man is hired based oon all the non coaching stats... His role in coaching is only to help with the work load not to actually train.

Ive put this to the test this morning nothing major just over 6 games...3 where I gave the team talks, 3 where the ass man did them.

My ass man is Alan Irvine...

With him in charge of the team talks won 3 out of 3

The football was great but the results were there.

With me doing the the team talks...Lost 3 out of 3...the football was brighter (might be imagining it though :p)

So there you have it, there is some substance here, bear in mind that I was following WWFans excellent guide to team talks...To the letter I might add

Just in case you havent seen it (2nd entry down)

That’s pretty interesting Rez, and kind of bears out what I’d thought – after a season doing them myself (and finishing fourth) I let Mark Bowen take them on and am now top.

Did you check the >Assistant Advice >Team Talks to see what effect each of your team talks had?

Must admit I didnt do that...But guess what..Alan Irvine has been snapped up as manager of Leeds...Mark Bowen is now in post...
I think this can also increase the likely hood of you loosing your ass man!

Not too sure about that - I've played as Everton a few times and Irvine seems to be snapped up every time (regardless of whether he does TT or not).

Anyhoo, Mark Bowen is better

I am always Everton...This is the first time I have lost him through him becoming a manager...I have sacked him a few times...namely for Bowen or the fella from Parma (whose name I cannot say, let alone spell)

Oh well, i've always lost him.

Slightly o/t, but if you're Everton then are you using Arteta taking corners to the near post, with Cahill positioned there to nod 'em in? Worth at least 20 goals a season

Arteta was sold from under me for £21 million mores the pity...Luvvey Bill Kenwright is making a habbit of doing this to me...Arteta, Yobo and a youngster from Finland Savolainen all been sold...for good money...but as I dont get the money, Id rather have the players

Cahill got me 15 goals this year, yes a few from set pieces, Johnson got me 27..,22 in the league!

I finished 14th aswell!
