I like to put my two centre backs on to man marking due to high marking stats and on the the most part its work well1.

However when i put them onto specific man marking, i.e one marking Henry and one marking Reyes, the problem i get is when these two forwards decide to swap position,for some reason i end up with both defenders marking the same player or one man marking and the other not leaving one forward in acres of space to score and also the problem is when i see these two players swap position by the time it lets me into my tactics page to alter my instructions its usually too late as the popposing team have usually scored due to my defence being all over the place!!

Does anyone else have the same problems or know how to combat the ones im having??

The only solution is not to man mark specifically.

SI has mistaken good AI with contradicting their own game.

Same thing happens with DMCs marking AMCs, the AI just swaps the position of the DMC with some other player in the pitch and off goes the marking DMC to outer space with him.

iv tried not to man mark specifically and it works ok to a certain extent but i find my defence is a lot tighter if i mark specifically and its showed in my defensive stats this season with my defence being second in the EPL behind only Chelsea

Watch the formation during the game, then you can see right away ehrn they swap. Push pause and go to quick tactics - then alter and press change tactics. This works.
