Shrewsbury Town were formed in May 1886
They have spent most of their history playing the lower leagues of English football.
They even went down as far as the English Conference some years.
The most notable success of recent years for Shrewsbury would be when they achieved promotion back into the football league from the Conference National in season 2003/2004.
They made it into the play-offs winning against Barnet in a two legged semi final then beating Aldershot on penalties in the final at the Britannia Stadium.
The two seasons after that were joined by a new manager, Gary Peters stopped for club from entering back into the Conference again and steered them up to a side hungry for the play-offs.
After narrowly missing out on the playoffs in the 2005/2006 season......
This is where the challenge begins for you, can you take Shrewsbury Town to heights that they have never seen before?

I can see there being alot of free transfers and loan signings
Im not normally a lower league manager, but as Football Manager 2007 only has a few months left in it, i thought i would take up my last challenge and see how far i could progress with Shrewsbury.
New Stadium and a few potentially good players, weighed put by the fact of having hardly any transfer funds.
It certainly looks like an interesting challenge and one i hope i am not on my own with
i took over shrewsbury in about 2011, still in div 1 with 10,000 capacity stadium and got £1.1m transfer budget....
won the league in first season, got promoted via the play-offs from the championship in season 2, now in my 6th season in the prem and are current league champions, won the champions league, uefa cup, league cup and super cup.
current capacity is 22,000 and transfer budget is £20m.
Well after a long weekend i have finally managed to get started on my game
I have came o the conclusion that i will need a couple of center backs and a left winger.
With my center backs i am hoping to get a decent parent club so i can loan one or two of there decent youngsters and hopefully raid the free transfers for a left winger
Oh how its so different to starting the game with £4 million
First friendly
Shrewsbury 3 v 2 Leicester
Not a bad result
So far i have signed four players
Sam Ashton - GK On loan from Bolton
Phil Cave - Def Free from Newcastle
Joe Anyinsah - Mid £2k from Preston
Chris Shanks - Def free from Newcastle
Being a shrewsbury fan I have played as the shrews for the last 4 editions of FM (or CM as it was). In the latest game in season 12/13 with a half deccent squad and a amazing re-gen who made his debut at 16, 4 seasons ago and on the verge of breaking into the england squad. Done ok but yet to win League or FA cup but won League cup and did well in UEFA reaching semi. Will keep going back to it every so often as started new game with WSM until FM08 is on sale!!
Sounds good Necky, living near Shrewsbury and not having played as them on 2007 i thought it would be a nice way to finish the game off.
But my weekend seems to have been rather lack luster and heavy so i haven't really got into the game yet
Although i will do now think i have two more friendlies to play, then onto the league.
Cmon Gunner you know that you want to :p
