Hi all  I'm in the middle of my 3rd season as Dortmund manager and was given the England job at the start of this season. This has been the best i've done in a long time on FM. I'm usually quite flakey and get bored of teams after 1 and a half seasons. I'f i could figure out how to post a screenshot of my team i would, but im too lazy! After three seasons I went from having a balance of £6m to having a healthy £68m. I've managed to win 1 Bundesliga title, 1 Champs League, 2 German Cup's, 1 League Cup and 1 Super Cup. I've managed to get some good bargains and a few bosmans. Could you guys take a look at my team and give me some advice on some good players to sign and even decent training tecniques for my current players (if any come to mind) and also just rate my team too. Any responses are much appreciated.
I signed Sonck, D'Alessandro and Mirate on Bosmans, Kompany cost me 11m at the end of season 1 and i had a budgt of 23m for the start of season 3 which i spent pretty much all on Rafinha. So i'll probably end up with a decent 2£20m+ for the start of season 4.
I had a Dortmund save in FM 2006. I went with the Jan Koller / Iaquinta combo up front. If you can get Baptista for AMC, that would be great too. After Koller was near retiring, I went with Iaquinta / Cesar Delgado. Both combo's were fffb!
Lars Ricken has the heart of a lion, in-game reminds me of Gattuso.
Delgado joined Munchen so i can't get him. I'm probably going to ged rid of 2 strikers at the end of the season. Klimowicz and Sonck are probably my weakest out of the 4. I was thinking of getting Voronin from Liverpool as his contract runs out at the end of this season. Then i'll spend whatever i'm given on a big name striker.
Oh and I know what you mean about Ricken! Such a good worker and inspiring to the rest of the squad. Thing is, I dont play him that regularly anymore. My starting midfield is usually part of an attacking 4-4-2 with D'alessandro, Kehl, Sahin and de Ridder.
Pretty decent team there, mate. Good forward partnership in Klimowicz and Frei. However, Klimowicz will be getting on and I'm not sure what his stats will be like 3 seasons in, so try and pick up another striker, perhaps Milevskiy, Bianchi, Soren Larsen, Gianpaolo Pazzini or Huntelaar. Other than that, the rest of the team is fine, maybe invest in a left and right winger though?
Cheers guys! I've still got a little while to go until the end of the season and a nice new transfer budget but i've made a note of those player's you've mentioned.
As for Wingers, its mostly my right side that needs buffing up as Pocognoli, Parensen, Tyrala and especially D'Alessandro are all playing well as LW's when needed. But thanks for the advice. Please keep it coming
I am also currently playing a game with Dortmund, though I am only in the second season.
Are you playing with any specific update? Personally I`m playing with the weegie-update and on that one Dortmund have two good right wingers(giovanni federico and jakub blaszczykowski). If these arent in your team, you should get jakub. Other than that, you could try vladimir tatarchuk from cska moscow. He looks promising.
Other than that, your midfield is okay. I have Morais, Svento, Kruska, Guzman, Kehl, Sahin, Montolivo(loan) and the mentioned above. So far, I have kept Ricken in the club, but he is not getting any games. I just like keeping him around for the good old times` sake.
If you get Frei and Valdez to score many goals, that is good. They werent any good for me, so I had to sell them. Instead I have Lauth, Klimowicz, Vela(loan), Bendtner(loan) and Roland Lamah.
