im currently in my fourth season with portsmouth, found it very hard goin at the start, becasue there seems little quality but the budget is very good. Got rid of dead wood first off, n broutght in sum quality,

Baines LB - Superd for asists
Higuain St - Scores goals for fun
Okaka St - Assists loads scores, use him as a target man.
Pasanen DRC - Very Reliable and cheap at start.

Finishes 8th first season but was tight with 6,7th teams.

Second season did well finishing third, and okaka n higuain came into their own, as well as fernandes, kranjcar n i got mikel form chelsea on loan n signed vanden borre to play AMR, Wingers assist alot. Also signed chimbonda RB who played consistently.

Third season overcome all odds to win prem n champions league.Got a bigger budget n signed:

Figuearoa ST - Scored 28 goals in 34 appearances usually as target man, signed for aroun 6m
Tamas CB - Superd defender, scored loads from set pieces, n dirt cheap, around 1m
Onuha CB - Very good in partnership, got 2.6m
Acuna ST - Signed on loan from Real as backup n got 14 goals in 10 appearances.
Cardenas AMR - Scores alot, n cheap very well recomended.

Now about to start 4th season n want some real quality. Board given me 27m, n cud do with superb cb. Tryin micah richards but price is through the roof, rejectin 20m. Any ideas? the club had a good rep now, so most players will join from big teams?

Can anyone tell me how much they had to pay for Jo? I have had several bids up to about £5m rejected, not sure whether to keep going, or look elsewhere. Is there much difference between him and Dagoberto?

Also, anyone managed to bring Micah Richards to Pompey? Chairman keeps telling me to raise the profile and this is the signing I'd most like to make at the mo, but don't want to lose my whole budget

I bought Jo in my 1st season for about £6m, goal machine, my strikers for 08/09 are Jo, Daniel Sturrdige, Giovanni Torre and Benjani.
I bought Micah Richards in my 2nd season for about £4m but this was only cheap as Man City were relegated.

Starting as Popmpy and trying to get into europe in my first season. want to get as many good cheap young buys. Would love to have a mainly british young side but may be hard. I have 20m budget. Here are the players i am allready looking at.

Danny Haynes-3m seems like a good young quick striker.
Jlloyd Samuel-2m seems like an alrite lb.
Curtis davies- 6m, great young british cb.
Adu-2m, i know not british but good young player.

Any other ideas on realistic, young, british buys. If not british then i want my players to be real bargains as i dont want to spend alot on one player. Looking for players all over the pitch to help my pompy team challenge in the prem. Cheers.
