quote:
I'm interested in your definition of "goal area". If you mean the 18 yard box, then you can indeed have an IFK within it. 6 yard box, I'm not sure, and if that's the "goal area" you refer to then I'm willing to defer to your superior referees' knowledge.

Just had a look at the link to the laws of the game. The goal area is the six yard box. Apologies if you knew this already

hah iaj...Yes, the goal area is the "proper" name for the 6 yard box, and the penalty area as the 18. However, iaj, about 8 posts up, I had myself quoted as...

quote:
Humph, the goal area (6 yard box) is mainly used for goal kicks, however no, you can't have an indirect free kick taken from within the goal area. It must be placed on the edge of the area that is parallel to the goal line.

So I defined it already. :p

And I see that someone has beaten me to the punch.

Being a referee comes in handy when you're actually playing. For the first time, I actually changed a referee's mind after he made a call. Took me five minutes to explain, but I was quite proud of myself. Sorry, without the need for cheating, tipping, bragging....

Yeah, how he let your 5 goals stand is beyond me...

And the ref who let your second stand (or first) vs. Peterboro' was an idiot. C'mon though, you must've moaned when you saw that score pop up!!! ^_^

By the way quinn, it's good to see Cullompton popping up, regardless of your rather green alignment. It's actually where I spent the first 18 months of me life, even though I can't remember it...

Trust me, bigfatone, having no memory of this place is the best way to be. It is so dull! You fall asleep just driving through the place.

Should have won the game last night, BTW. An absolute howler of a goalkeeping error to let in that second goal...
