life seems to be going really well for you and then some the universe conspires to ram a large stick right up your arse?
Well, maybe you don't like it that much. I don't at any rate.
So here I am, right, happily powering along in the conference when my star striker evidently has been practicing his jumping, but not his landing and damages his spine. Out for 8 months. Damn annoying, that.
Then in the next game my star winger decided to turn right, when he obviously should have turned left. Snap goes the anterior cruciate ligament. Out for 9 months. Upsetting.
Come the following season and both of my blokes are back in training, doing really well, when my big signing -- my new star striker, a perfect foil for his partner, also does his cruciate ligament. Out for the season, which hasn't even begun.
It's not so bad when it happens to players you don't like, but my favourite players? Hmm. The universe is conspiring against me. It must be, right?
