Default Quick query - time at origional club

Yes, i'm new at LLM. Starting to get bored of non LLM cm4, i've decided to use it to fill the void when i'm not playin a network game.

However, havign read through the FAQ's and the like, there is no mention of time at origional (lower league) club.

If i was to leave a confrence team halfway through the first season, somehow (legit) getting a job in division 1, would i still be a llm, having worked my way up? Or would it be considered against the spirit of LLM?

Ok slightly more realistic spin... Just for future refrence.

Say player x took over confrence club Y. With a brilliant FA cup run he gets a great reputation. Two weeks before the end of the season, division 1 club A sit second from bottom and fire their manageer. Is it truely impossible to get that job? I have a feeling it could be done, and if x managed to salvage the season in the alst two games and stayed up, he'd have skipped two divisions.

The olny way I thing it could be done is by going international.

If you are managing in a country with a high reputation say England, spain or germany, and you were doing well in the lower leagues, up the top aiming for promotion and a team form a higher league in a lower reputation country may offer you a job.

you would skip divisions and move up that way, but you would have only made a small jump if any in real terms.

I went USA-English conferance-hong-kong 1st once. Playing top flight in hong-kong though not a move up in reputation as HK are the lowest ranked country in the game i think!

It's highly unlikely that you'll get a Div1 job after half a season, I think it'll take you atleast 2 trophies (either promotion or cup victory) before your reputation reaches that level.

In my opinion it's much more fun and challenging to bring your own Conference team up instead of "skipping the divisions" by changing jobs.

I always stay with my Conference team until I get the sack - unless the fans wants me to leave, then I pack up my bags and apply for something else.

So, if even possible, it is a grey area, more down to personal preference?

Personaly, i don't see myself steering southend to the premiership. Playing LLM, i find the career manager way more to my liking, as soon as someone even slightly bigger or better says yes, i'll be jumping ship

Is LLM about taking a lower team to the top, or merely starting from the bottom yourself and making it to the top?

That's your choice roxor, it's how you play the game itself that counts. You're welcome to manage manure if you have earned the reputation to do so. I won't talk to you then though. Take Stoke to the top and you'll be a superstar!

If i managed ManUre, i wouldn't talk to myself...

Although i have been extremely tested to try the ManUre challenge... getting them from the epl to the confrence without being fired could be a fun sideline game...

But yeah, while i would like to get a lower team up, i can't see it being my origional confrence team. Maybe eventualy a division 1/2 side to the top, after earning my way up.

Although i would like to earn my way to the Arsenal job...

A career game is more fun (and challenging) if you jump to smaller clubs, not bigger ones. Obviously there aren't that many smaller clubs than the one you're starting out with, but you can pick one below you in the table or from a lower division after promotion.

In a recent game I jumped ship from newly promoted Div 1 Kettering to bankrupt Div 3 Sheff Utd and thought it would be a fun challenge. It wasn't. These clubs' reputations and attendance make going back to the top a walk in the park.

I have had a downwards career game in non LLM, jumping from a very successfull (and not that hard to get there) Arsenal side to an almost relegated boro (and saving them, eventualy winning the title), but, when in the lower divisions, there aren't many managable clubs lower than you...

By managable, i mean i'm not too keen on a garenteed relegation from the confrence.. i like to stay in employment if possible:p
